I have set myself the task of compiling a photo diary to capture certain moments in my life. Not only is this to motivate me as a photographer to get a really great shot, but also to constantly be aware, thankful, and mindful of my surroundings. I want my days to count. I want to be able to look back and have my emotions evoked by my images. I will also be documenting where the photo was taken, what I was doing, and the type of equipment I used. Enjoy! Day 130
I find the use of dark and light space in this image quite effective. I think the stance of the subject adds a sense of voyeurism and the dark tones around the face add a kind of 3d perspective.

Day 129
I really like the simplicity of this photo and the central focal point of the subject. This image was taken at night with the only light source being the lighter held against the face.

Day 126
I really like the detail in this macro shot and the contrast of the dark blue in the foreground juxtaposed to the light blue in the background. The image itself is an up close shot of my dogs brush. I was attracted to the shape and textures and fine detail.

I have always found painting with light and the effects of out of focus lighting interesting. The above image is an out of focus macro shot of fairy lights.

This is Mebis, the pet rat with supermodel good looks. I took this image with my macro lens. The natural lighting worked well to bring out highlights. I played around with clarity in Lightroom.

Day 120
I took this image at Ripley's believe it or not in Surfers Paradise. I'd been wanting to go there for ages and for some reason no one wanted to go with me. After going there.....I now know why! On the whole it was pretty boring. I snapped this little guy in the shrunken head exhibition.

Day 118
I took this image at Robina shopping centre a few hours after the shooting. Parts were cordoned off and people were mindlessly waiting around to see what was happening. A man and a woman got shot by a gunman in one of the phone stores. The woman was an innocent bystander whilst the man was part of a bikie gang in an ongoing feud. The gunman was later caught but the bikie war rages on!

Day 107
I was lucky enough to get an invitation to the Logies this year and see One Direction Perform. If I had of been a 13 year old girl I would have loved tonights performance. However, being a 23 year old woman, and more of a Radiohead fan.....I can't say I was that impressed :p With all the hype I couldn't resist posting this photo!
Day 106
This is my beautiful best friend Irina. I was lucky enough to fly down to Melbourne and spend some time with her over the last few days. I overlayed this photo with an artistic texture on photoshop then bought the opacity down so that the details underneath could be seen.
Day 105
This is the lovely Shelley, one of our PMA models. I put a bit of an artistic edge on this photo. I think the pink and green tones work well together.

I'm not going to lie...I kind of developed a small (big) crush on the above artist after I saw him perform. Justin Townes Earl the son of Steve Earle performed to an excited audience. Dressed in plaid, his geeky exterior was swoon worthy.

There's something about this image that I really like. I have a fondness for art in which the subject is not at first easily recognisable. The contrast of light and shape in this image give me a sense of mystery, and I find myself searching and trying to create a story.

I seem to be spending a lot of my time at the Mandala organic arts restaurant of late. Due to lack of seating we positioned ourselves in the tee pee, drank from coconuts, and enjoyed some soya ice cream.

A rainy late afternoon found mum (pictured above) and myself sitting at organic arts drinking coffee and talking about the world.
